Mother Janice F. Williams was called home on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Janice was born on October 22nd, 1946, to the late Daniel and Mabel Brickey in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She received her education in Wise County Public School System and graduated from James A. Bland High School. On Sept. 10, 1977, Sister Janice became a member of "Pride of Panama" Study Club, the forerunner of Geraldine C. Scales Chapter #115, O.E.S. Sister Williams was then elected President of the historic "First" class of Geraldine C. Scales Study Club. In June of 1979, Sister Williams was elected as Worthy Matron and worked diligently and hard for the Eastern Stars in Panama to make it what it is today.
After high school, Janice married her devoted husband, Earnest C. Williams Sr., on August 14, 1966. She spent 58 years happily married to the love of her life. She served 22 years as an army wife which allowed her to see many parts of the United States and various countries around the World. As a military spouse, Janice was able to begin employment at the Military Commissary in Wiesbaden, Germany. In 1983, she and her family got stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, where she was hired through AAFES to open up a Popeyes on the base. Janice eventually became a manager and was transferred to Fort Clayton, Panama as the assistant store manager. Janice also played a vital role in opening the 1st Krystal in Hinesville, Georgia where she managed for several years. Her passion for food service continued as the Food Service Manager at Frank Long Elementary for Liberty County School System for Liberty County.
